Alexus Mathis

Alexus Marie Mathis, age 21, of Omaha, NE, passed away on September 11, 2023. Our Sweet Alexus battled 4.5 years with Ewing Sarcoma, demonstrating incredible strength and courage throughout her journey. She laid down her sword and joined her king, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of resilience.

Alexus was born on January 24, 2002, and graduated with honors from Millard South High School in 2020. She had a passion for art, particularly coloring, and found solace in expressing her creativity. She had a deep love for all things Disney, especially Peter Pan, and cherished the
magic and wonder it brought into her life.

Family was of utmost importance to Alexus, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Her two dogs, Zoe and Rexie, held a special place in her heart and brought her immeasurable joy.

Alexus had a strong faith in God and was an active member of her church family. She found comfort, strength, and hope in her faith, which she described as a combination of “faith, trust, and Pixi dust.” Her church community provided her with unwavering support and love throughout her journey.

She is survived by her mother, Jamie Mathis, her father, David Flatt, her maternal grandparents, Jim and Pamela Guillory, her paternal grandmother, Mary, and her siblings, Hunter, Dakota, Logan, Joanna, and Lani. Alexus also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family members who will cherish her memory.

VISITATION Saturday, September 23, from 10am-11am with CELEBRATION OF LIFE at 11am at Wildwood Christian  Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family. We will broadcast Lexi’s service this Saturday, September 23 @ 11:00 :

Alexus Marie Mathis will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her. May she rest in eternal peace.
