Alice Faye Carney

Jan 25, 1945 — Jun 26, 2026

Alice Faye Carney, born on January 25, 1945 in Richmond, California, aged 81, passed away peacefully at the home of her niece, Becky McKittrick-Mason, after a long battlewith Alzheimer’s early morning on Friday, June 26, 2026.

Alice is the second oldest child of John P. Carney and Edna F. Carney, born during WWII and on the last day of the “Battle of the Bulge” in Europe.

Alice is survived by two sons, Aaron Stone of Ft. Worth, TX and Matthew Stone, of the Missouri Department of Corrections, Missouri; elder brother, John P. Carney of Sacramento, CA; younger sister Carole Marsh of Hendersonville, TN; twin brother-and-sister, Mike Carney and Bev Wisser of Rogers, Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her parents and youngest sister, Janice Oals.

Alice grew up in Stoutland, Missouri with her family and was a 1964 graduate of Stoutland High School. She was active in home-ec, band and was a cheerleader. Alice loved to garden, renovate and make-over home living spaces and she had a very good eye for details and color. Alice had many beloved pets in her lifetime, but favored and cherished very much all of the cats she took into her care which included several stray cats that she would adopt and care for until the end of their lives. She had a great deal of compassion for people and animals. Alice also possessed a great deal of wit and was known for “zingers” that would cause laughter. Alice was meticulous with organization, and loved things very neat and crisp. She loved to can items that she grew in her garden, refinish or refurbish furniture and she was very patient with those activities. While Alice would say she didn’t possess talents in art, she made up for it in homemaking abilities and attention to detail. Alice worked outside of the home as an executive administrative assistant for the Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri, a fact she was particularly proud of along with many other companies over the years.

Last, Alice was a Christian and her last wishes were to go home to be “with Him”, and she would point upward. No doubt, Alice is with her family and with God waiting for us in the Heaven that is promised to all believers who have faith in Jesus Christ. Alice did have that faith.

A special thanks to the staff and pastor at Peaceful Hearts Hospice for the excellent care provided to Alice in the last weeks of her life.

A grave-side celebration of life will take place at a future date to be determined.
