Andy Ray Gerken

Andy Ray Gerken passed away May 21, 2026, in Blair, Nebraska at the age of 62 years.

Andy was born on June 28, 1963, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of David Gerken and Joan (Killion) Benson. He was raised in Omaha and attended Northwest High School and then later graduated from high school in Houston, Texas. After high school he moved back to Nebraska and started working as a professional painter.

Andy started his own painting business AG Painting in 1989. He also met his future wife in 1989, Graciela Torres, and the couple were united in marriage on August 20, 1994, in Omaha. In 1999 the couple made their permanent home in Blair, Nebraska. In April of 2006 the couple were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Shelby Rae.

Andy cherished his time with his family and friends and truly enjoyed listening to classic rock while taking care of the family property, gardening, and caring his pets, plants and trees.

He is survived by his wife Graciela Gerken; daughter Shelby Rae; brother Jay Gerken; along with countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters in law and brothers in law, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Ray Benson, grandparents, aunts and uncles.

VISITATION Thursday, May 28, from 9:30-10:30 am with CELEBRATION OF LIFE at 10:30 am at Good News Church (7415 Hickory St, Omaha, NE). Memorials may be directed to the family.
