It is with profound sadness, yet with cherished memories, that we announce the earthly transition of our beloved mother, Atlay Kelsaw-Walton, on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Our Heavenly Father called His faithful servant home to eternal rest.
Born on October 27, 1950, Atlay was preceded in death by her parents, the late Deacon William Kelsaw Sr. and Ella Mae Kelsaw; her sister, Willie Mae Kelsaw; and her brothers, Clarence Kelsaw of Homerville, and William Kelsaw Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her two children, Steve Lamont Walton (Rob Jon Noha) and Cheryl Renee Walton; her beloved grandson, Jaron Xavier Walton; her siblings, Helen Marie Kelsaw of Naylor, Ethel Mae Kelsaw of Cibolo, Eprict Kelsaw (Sally Riley) of Naylor, Georgia, William Kelsaw III of Fargo, and Daniel Lee Kelsaw (Annie Kelsaw) of Fargo, Georgia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Atlay worked for Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company for 40 years before retiring. She was an integral part of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she was an original member and served faithfully as church treasurer. She also enjoyed shopping for bargains at Goodwill stores throughout the city with her dearest friend, Blanche Rush, and spending treasured time with her grandson.
Her love, faith, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home & Cremation Services from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Open Door Mission.
