Becky Ann Klipfel

August 22, 1951 — February 23, 2026

Becky Ann (Baer) Klipfel d. February 23, 2026; Daughter of Lawrence L. and Dorie (Hoffman) Baer, Becky was born August 22, 1951 near Britton, SD. In 1953 they moved to Monango, ND, where she attended school, worked at her father’s service garage in town, and graduated from Monango High School. She briefly attended Presentation College in Aberdeen for Nursing, but left shortly thereafter when she married Timothy Klipfel on June 27th, 1970 and became a homemaker. They moved to Mobridge SD and started a family. Over the years they lived on the family farm near Forbes ND, in Holyoke CO, Flagstaff AZ, Ovid CO, and Aberdeen SD.

Wherever she lived, she worked hard caring for her children, loving and nurturing each of them with a fervor beyond comparison. School activities and her children’s endeavors were her priority, and during 38 years of having kids at home there were many opportunities to see her children thrive. She would take on part time jobs throughout the years, working with Meals on Wheels, Church groups, and many other volunteer opportunities. Becky was active in every parish community of which she was a member. She volunteered her skills by cooking for parish events, teaching CCD, publishing the weekly bulletin, and chaperoning youth trips. As her children grew up and started moving out, she took on jobs as a nursing assistant, home health care giver, and worked for several years with Aberdeen Public Schools. Becky gardened no matter the landscape, canning and freezing food for her family. Providing meals and home assistance to her parents who lived just around the corner was part of her daily life for several years. Later she moved to Omaha and became the primary caregiver for her mother. No matter where she was, she did her best to ensure the house was filled with love, laughter, and music.

Becky enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, playing cards with friends, square-dancing with the troupe, and was never one to turn down a chance to travel. She joined a retired parishioner group in Omaha that played cards, dined, and traveled together. She has visited Italy and over half of the US.

Becky is preceded in death by her son Kevin Lee Klipfel, her grandson Matthew Ryan Berg, and her father, Lawrence L. Baer. She joins her own two unborn babies and 8 of her children’s in Heaven.

She is survived by her mother, Dorie Jean Baer of Omaha NE; eight children: Myron (Brandy) Klipfel of Omaha NE, Lisa Berg of Portland OR, Jennifer (David) Zimmerman of Aberdeen SD, Megan Klipfel of Aberdeen SD, Jason (Rachel) Klipfel of Omaha NE, Lawrence (Mackenzie) Klipfel of Sioux Falls SD, Michael Klipfel of Portland OR, and Kyle (India) Klipfel of Inver Grove Heights MN, and their father, Timothy Klipfel of Aberdeen, SD; 17 wonderful grandchildren: Sam, Lucas, Henry, Madeline, Benjamin, Levi, Ethan, Abigail, Timothy, Jake, Brooklyn, Vincent, Owen, Olivia, Adeline, Kolbe and Felix; and her six brothers and sisters: Duane (Marilyn) Baer of Conifer CO, Lanny (Donna) Baer of Glyndon MN, DeLaine Wallace of Apple Valley CA, Kathy (Ron) Patton of Westport SD, Donovan Baer of Sioux Falls SD, and Bruce (Mary) Baer of Belfield ND.

Becky (74) passed away at home after a brief illness with cancer. Her final days were spent with her family, enjoying the sound of her grandchildren playing together. Her legacy is one of service to God and to others and she will be missed by everyone fortunate enough to know her.
