Brandon Stevens Charleson

February 26, 1990 — January 10, 2026

Brandon Mark Stevens Charleson was born at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, with his mother Sandy, his uncle Mark, family friend Pat Lenihan and a Chaplain at his side.

Brandon was the son of Sandra Stevens and Lonnie Charleson. Though his parents were not married, both shared in his life. He attended school in Omaha before moving with his mother to Dubuque, Iowa during his senior year, where he graduated from Dubuque Senior High School. After three years, they both returned to Omaha.

He earned a certification in Aviation Maintenance from Iowa Western Community College and worked for several small aviation companies, along with holding various jobs over the years.

Brandon was a warm and kindhearted young man, known for his engaging smile and deep care for those close to him. He cherished time with his grandfather, enjoyed shooting with his uncle Scott, and dearly loved his cousins and family in Dubuque. He was a highly devoted fan of the Las Vegas Raiders and a regular contributor to the Raider Nation Podcast as "Nebraska Raider." He was also deeply attached to his dogs, Pierce and Jasmine.

Brandon loved his mother Sandy who devoted her life to loving her son, and she will miss him beyond words. Please keep her in your thoughts, prayers and reach out to her often.

Brandon is preceded in death by his father Lonnie Charleson, Grandmother Lois Charleson, Grandfather Howard Stevens and Grandmother Lois Stevens.

Brandon is survived by his mother Sandra Stevens, uncle Mark Stevens, aunt Terri Mayberry, aunt Christine Stevens, uncle Scott Charleson, aunt Windi Charleson-Libby and Grandfather Larry Charleson. As well as his cousins Dan Smith, Alex Murphy, Emily Chapman, Samantha Meyer, Carter Mayberry, Hunter Mayberry and Hannah Mayberry.

Though Brandon faced struggles in life, his faith in Jesus Christ remained. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at One Eighty in Davenport, Iowa. Brandon would want others, especially his family, to know this truth:

God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 1 John 5: 11 -12

Below is the prayer Brandon, his Grandpa and Grandma Stevens, Uncle Bruce and other family members have prayed to invite Christ into their lives, before entering into the presence of God:

Lord Jesus, I need you. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person you want me to be.

 Amen
