Brian Michael Barber

Brian Michael Barber was born on March 4, 1983 in Omaha, Nebraska to Ida Barber and George Midcalf. He passed away in Phoeniz, Arizona on April 6, 2026.

He was a member of Pleasant Green Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Horace G. McMillan and Rev. Wanye Banks. While not as active in the church after his mother's passing, Brian still studied religion on his own.

Brian attended North High School and later on Metro Community College, where he studied culinary arts.

He worked numerous jobs over the years, mostly in kitchens. His last job was with Sodexo as a cook in a surgical clinic.

Brian enjoyed cooking and was devoted to his friends. He was deeply in love with his girlfriend, Paula, and moved to Arizona to be with her. He proposed to her shortly before his passing.

Brian is survived by his brother, Adrian W. Barber; fiance, Paula Hill and many family and friends.

There will be a Memorial Service on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 4 PM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home - 90th Street Chapel. There will be a visitation 1 hour prior from 3-4 PM for family and friends. Reception to follow in Good Shepherd's Reception Hall.
