Carlease Andre Mitcheam

Carlease was born on June 23, 1962, in Omaha, Nebraska, where she was raised. She graduated from Bryan High School in Bellevue Nebraska, attended Bellevue University and began building a beautiful life centered around her family. In her early twenties, Carlease welcomed her first child, her son, De'Lonnie Patterson. Later in life, she married and embraced the journey of being a military spouse, traveling and experiencing different places along the way. During this chapter of her life, she welcomed her daughter, Ra'Chelle Burton, completing her family.

After a ten-year marriage came to an end, Carlease moved to Salina, Kansas, where she lived near her mother Annie Harris and devoted herself to raising her children and working as a medical assistant. She later remarried and relocated to Montgomery, Alabama, where she worked for many years as a proud dental assistant. After that marriage came to an end, Carlease eventually found her way back home to Omaha, Nebraska, where she was reunited with her current spouse, Van Jones, along with family and lifelong friends.

Carlease found fulfillment in her work as an insurance specialist with CHI, where she worked for many years and took pride in what she did. Outside of work, she enjoyed the simple moments that made life special. She loved taking car rides and listening to music with Van, dancing with sister Sheridan, weekend visits with her son De'Lonnie, FaceTime calls with her daughter Ra'Chelle, playing Scrabble, watching movies, and most importantly, spending time with her family. Carlease will be remembered for the love she gave to her children, family, and friends, the memories she created throughout her journey, her sweet personality and the joy she found in the people and moments that mattered most.

Carlease was preceded in death by her father, Scofield Patterson; mother, Annie B. Harris; brothers, Ulysses Harris and Marty Harris; uncle, Robert Winters; and aunt, Ara Lee Ritter.

Carlease leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Van Jones; son, De'Lonnie Patterson; daughter, Ra'Chelle Burton (Derrick Jr.); sister, Sheridan McNeil; nephew, Rondolon Manual (Kim); niece, Nicole Allen; and her 10 grandchildren: Ollyana, Mason, Ke'Lonnie, Jayla, Derrick III, Aviayanah, Daimon, Lillyanah, Mariah, and Kainon. She also leaves behind 6 cousins, 2 great-grandchildren, 4 great-nephews, 1 great-niece, and her lifetime friends Toni Sherman, Donnie Holloway, Julie Steele, Charlene Jarmon, Pam Clark and many more dear friends who loved and cherished her throughout the years.

Though her journey on earth has come to an end, the love she shared and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Carlease will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
