Cheryl Ann Garrett

Cheryl Ann Garrett, 81, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026, at Josie Harper Hospice House. She was born September 11, 1945, in Omaha to Arthur and Elma Burger.

For 40 years, Cheryl served as an insurance agent - a career that was truly her ministry. Everyone who walked into her office left encouraged and prayed for.

Cheryl was witty, kind, encouraging, and lovingly blunt - she could call you out in a way that made you and the people around you better. She loved time with friends: lunches, shopping, game nights, Pilates, and church. Connecting before and after was her favorite part. She prayed for people and spoke life over their bodies and minds.

She lost her own mother at just nine years old, and never forgot how hard it was to grow up without one. For Cheryl, life was about loving others and making her mom proud. She did both so well, and in her honor, the family welcomes memorial gifts to an orphanage of the family's choosing.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Elma Burger. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Carlos) Padilla, and many loving friends who became family.

Cheryl will be laid to rest with her mother, Elma Burger, at Springwell Danish Cemetery, 6326 Hartman Ave. Omaha, NE 68104

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Good News Church in Omaha, led by lifelong family friend Joe Laughlin.
