Cheryl Lynn Sempek

Cheryl Lynn Quigley Sempek of Blair Nebraska, passed away suddenly on May 31 st , 2026. She graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a bachelors degree in Business Administration and a masters in Criminal Justice.

Cheryl worked at the University of Nebraska Foundation for 34 years before retiring in 2022. Cheryl married Mark Sempek on March 18, 2011. They immediately moved into their log cabin style dream home in the hills outside of Blair. There she enjoyed her backyard pond surrounded by many trees and flowers. She loved her cats, her exotic birds, and she really enjoyed watching the wildlife that frequented the property.

Cheryl and Mark loved to go to estate sales together, where she would usually find yet another beautiful set of china to add to her collection.

She also loved hosting Victorian tea parties at her beautiful home for her many friends and family. Cheryl committed her life to Jesus as a young girl at Camp Rivercrest, and remained a faithful prayer warrior to the end.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother, Rita Quigley. 

She is survived by her husband, Mark Sempek, her father, Larry Quigley, her sisters, Debbie (David) Ficken, Cindy Mailloux, Robin (Mark) Anderson, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
