Clarice Jean Shively

Clarice "Claire" Jean Shively was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose greatest joy in life was her family. Her role as a grandmother brought her immeasurable happiness, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Claire had a special love for children and animals and was known for her generous heart, adventurous spirit, and selfless nature.

Claire is survived by her son, Andrew Jensen; her daughter, Stephanie Watson and her husband, Noel; her beloved grandchildren, Olivia and Graham; her sister, Marcia Crawford and her husband, Don; her nephew, Christian Waldo, his wife, Kelsey, and their children, Rowan and Ellis; as well as the children of her late husband, David Shively: Daniel Shively, and Laura Wright, her husband, Matthew, and their daughters, Lauren and Madison Wright.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Shively; her parents, Leroy "Jack" Petersen and Jodeen Petersen; and her brother, Jess Harold Petersen. Claire grew up in Millard, Nebraska, where she graduated from Millard High School with the Class of 1966. During her senior year, she was crowned Prom Queen and was honored as the Outstanding Bandsman of 1966. She later attended the University of Nebraska–Lincoln before beginning a career dedicated to serving others. 

Claire spent many years as the Ralston City Clerk, where she was known for her dedication and service to the community. She later joined Younkers as a sales associate, where she formed many lifelong friendships and earned numerous top sales awards in recognition of her outstanding customer service and commitment to excellence.

A devoted mother, Claire was an active Girl Scout leader and rarely missed one of her children's soccer games, softball games, and dance recitals. As a grandmother, she was just as devoted, spending as much time as possible with Olivia and Graham, creating countless treasured memories with them. Claire had a true sense of adventure. She loved to travel, read, and explore new places. Alongside her husband, David, she traveled throughout the country assisting with his auction business, enjoying the opportunity to visit new communities, meet new people, and experience life across the country. She was an avid sports fan who faithfully cheered for her favorite teams, the Yankees, Knicks and Chiefs.

Claire's legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the friendships she nurtured, and the countless lives she touched with her warmth and love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
