Cynthia "Cindy" Pluta, age 52, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born on November 6, 1973, Cindy lived a life filled with love for her family, a playful sense of humor, and a generous heart.

Cindy graduated from Benson High School in 1991. She will be remembered for her fierce independence, knowledge of a variety of subjects, her love of animals and plants, giving meaningful gifts, and her humor-especially her love of sending funny memes. She also had a special fondness for elephants and the beauty of the moon.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Ashleigh Pluta, whom she loved deeply. She is also survived by her father, Charles Pluta, and stepmother, Lorraine Rexroat; her mother, Eva Gottula; her brothers, Mike (Stacie) Pluta and their children Brooke, Megan, Kalin, Ava, and Michael; Daniel (Angela) Pluta and their children Brittany, Nathan, and Devon; and her sister, Deanna (J.D.) Herman and their children Cameron, Jackson, and Avery.

Cindy was also blessed with many great-nieces and nephews, including Myah, Carter, Emma, and Oliver, all of whom brought her great joy.

Cindy is preceded in death by her stepfather Gregory Gottula. Her grandparents Herman Pluta and Elieen And Herb Patton and Edra Pluta.

She was a daughter, sister, proud aunt, and friend. Cindy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

The Celebration of Life is April 11, 2026 from 6-7pm at the Camelot Community Center 9270 Cady Ave. Omaha, NE 68134
