Darlene Louise Richardson was born on January 2, 1947 in Omaha, Nebraska to Robert J. Landers Sr. and Maxine (Perkins) Landers. Darlene entered her eternal resting place on September 11, 2023.

 

Darlene graduated from Technical High School and then went on to work at Fireman’s Funds Insurance Company and was a realtor at NP Dodge. She retired from her last job at Metropolitan Community College in 2015. Darlene was a faithful member of many churches over the years. She has been a member of Eagles Nest Worship Center for the last 13 years.

 

Darlene married the love of her life Troy Richardson on August 7, 1987. Darlene and Troy loved to travel together. Family was very important to her. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Darlene also liked to knit, write, and read. She had a green thumb and lots of beautiful plants to prove it. Darlene also like singing and playing cards. She was always the lady to help out anyone who needed it. She will be greatly missed.

 

Darlene is preceded in death by parents Robert J Landers Sr. and Maxine (Perkins) Landers; spouse Troy Richardson; stepchild Debbie Allen; and sister Cynthia Livingston.

 

She is survived by her only daughter Lisa Houston; stepchildren Troy Moore, Wendell Hill, Todd Richardson, and Debra Edwards; siblings Jim Landers Jr., Ronald Landers Sr., Raymond Bass, Sharon Brown, and Melissa Johnson; granddaughter Rachel Houston; great-grandchildren Calvin Jr., Jordan Sr., Asinie, Dywan, Amareon, and A’shontae; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
