Darwin Henry Agena passed away October 14, 2026 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 89 years. He was born October 24, 1936 in Adams, Nebraska. Darwin graduated from Creighton University with a degree in Chemistry. He began his career with roles at Allied Chemical then Becton, Dickinson and Company. Leaving the corporate world for entrepreneurial endeavors including motorcycle and lawncare dealerships, movie theatres, and HVAC. As luck would have it, his last business included caretaking of the facility where he began his career.
To those who knew him, Darwin was an engaging character. A hunter, motorcycle rider (including trips to Sturgis), air-boat pilot, and master mechanic. In addition, he was a dynamite practical joker, always looking to create a bit of surprise and excitement. The world will be just a bit quieter with his passing; he will be missed.
Darwin is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Viola Agena.
He is survived by his children Kenneth Agena, Martin (Jamie) Agena, Joel (Cami) Agena, Valerie (Scott) Ewing, and Karla Agena; grandchildren Avery, Erin, Riley, Gehden, Harm, and Beatriz; sisters Yvonne (Ronald †) Methot, Evonne Wilkinson, and Lavonne (Harvey) Marx; and nieces, nephews, and other family
