Diane Russell

Diane Lucille Russell passed away on December 14, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 64. She was born on January 10, 1961, in Sioux City, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Mackey; brothers Michael Mackey and Kevin Mackey; and sister Kathryn Savatovic.

Diane is survived by her children, Joseph (Jennifer) Russell, Jason Russell, and Jennifer (Jon) Krause, and their father, Denny Russell; grandchildren Emma Russell, Nathan Russell, Brooklyn Russell, and Kollyns Krause; sisters Patricia Golden and Marylou Gigax; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Diane was spirited, generous, and stubborn in the best way. She loved life big and always put others first. Her children were her greatest pride, and she showed extraordinary love through listening, hugs, and especially cooking-preparing large meals and making sure everyone was well fed. She enjoyed the Food Network channel, shopping and browsing every aisle, long phone calls, Las Vegas, swimming and being in the warm sunshine, and making Christmas special through decorating, baking, and constantly spoiling those around her. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her ornery lively spirit, and the unmistakable love she showed through food and care.
