Dianne Marie Smith

Dianne Marie Smith passed away January 6, 2023, after an unexpected illness.

She was born to William and Katherine Amsberg and grew up in Davenport, IA. Dianne had many skills and interests over the years including the art of antiquing and restoring wicker and caned chairs. She enjoyed it so much that she opened her own caning and wicker restoration shop called the "Buggy Seat" in Valley Junction, IA. Dianne went on to explore many other interests over the years.

After receiving her cosmetology license, Dianne opened a successful beauty salon in Osceola, IA, and continued her career managing a JC Penny salon in Omaha, NE. Dianne also enjoyed reading suspense novels and gardening.

Dianne is survived by her sons Dominic Louis Lavorato (Lori), Anthony Louis Lavorato (Shani); stepdaughter Melodae Morris; sisters, Judith Ann Kankel (Keith), Marilyn Louise Scharfenberg, Janet Lee Lindsay (Russell); and five grandchildren, Nick, Leah, Sarah (Dorn),Talia and Giana.

A private family celebration of life will be held in West Des Moines, Iowa.
