Dorothy R. Hammock

Surrounded by family, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday September 21st , 2024 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE.

Dorothy (Dot) Hammock (85) was born in Montgomery, Alabama on April 25, 1939 to David Calhoun and Wilma Guice. She later re-located to Chicago, Illinois and started a family with her late husband Hubert Hammock. She will be forever cherished and remembered by her daughter Wilma Hammock, two sons Kevin and Rendell Hammock, and her sisters Beulah Calhoun and Verna Penn. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and a host of great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dorothy lived most of her life as a homemaker taking care her own children and grandkids. She was a kind hearted person who was always willing to lend a helping hand to just about anyone who needed it without any expectations in return. Dot was well respected and seen as a mother figure to a lot of people in the neighborhood. She will truly be missed by many.

Services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home - 90th St Chapel. Visitation from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM with Funeral Service at 12:00 PM.
