Edgar Phillip, Jr. was born on June 6, 1952 to Edgar Phillip, Sr. and Johnnie Mae Phillip in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He departed this life on December 1, 2025 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Edgar attended the Omaha Public School System.
Edgar worked a variety of jobs in his teens and into adulthood. He worked at various packing houses in South Omaha, until he was deemed disabled in the late 1970’s.
Edgar was a beloved dad, grandfather, great‑grandfather, son, brother, uncle, great‑uncle and friend. He was a quiet, layed-back guy who never gave his parents or anyone else any trouble. He was well-liked by all and his nieces and nephews favorite uncle; always the life of the party. His family and friends could always depend on him when they needed help in any way, he was always there for them. He and his brother John Lee took care of our Mom until the good Lord took her home. He had a special relationship with his niece, Sha Berry and sister-in-law Cheryl Phillip, who always saw to it he was well-fed and never in need of anything. He also depended on his nephew, Charles Phillip (Charlie), who was always there to take him to the grocery store, every doctor’s appointment and to the Emergency Room whenever needed.
Edgar is preceded in death by his father and mother; maternal grandmother, Mollie Anderson, paternal grandmother, Emma Phillip; brothers James Phillip and Jimmy Phillip; sisters Ollie Mae Phillip, Geneva Carlson, Lillie Mae Phillip and Ruby Lee Phillip; brothers-in-laws Willie Mann, Eddie Briley and LeeRoy Windham; niece Nichole Triplett; great-nephew Paul Richard; honorary great‑nephew Kentril Banister; great‑nieces Kiara Phillip, Leonna Dalton-Phillip.and Shonte Leeper.
He is survived by daughters, Sherita Partee and Candi Williams, Omaha, NE; sisters Doris Windham and Etta Brown of Lansing, MI; Ann Rice of O’Fallon, IL; Emma Richard, Vera Mann, and Janice Butler (John), Omaha, NE; brothers James Reese, John Phillip, and Donald (Cheryl) Phillip, Omaha, NE; and Dennis (Robin) Phillip, Phoenix, AZ; 10 grandchildren, 20 great‑grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great‑nieces and great‑nephews and many friends.
Services will be held on Friday (12/12/2025) at Good Shepherd Funeral Home - 90th Street Chapel. Visitation from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm with Funeral Service at 12:00 pm. Reception to follow in Good Shepherd's Reception Hall following the service.
