Eloise Murray

October 2, 1930 — October 8, 2025

Eloise Salvatori Murray was born on October 2, 1930, in Yankton, South Dakota. Growing up in a large, bustling family during the Depression, her childhood was shaped by moves between neighborhoods and schools, eventually settling in Omaha, Nebraska. She was a bright student who loved to read , and she graduated from Tech High School in 1948 after completing a comprehensive business course. Eloise was a remarkably talented typist and went on to spend her early adulthood working dedicatedly in insurance and corporate offices.

The central joy of Eloise’s life began when she reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Dick Murray, following his service in the Navy. The two were married on January 13, 1951, at Miller Park Presbyterian Church. Together, Eloise and Dick built a beautiful life grounded in deep devotion, purchasing their first beloved home on Davis Circle in 1955 and welcoming their daughter, Patti, in the spring of 1957. For Eloise, family always came first, and she took great joy in nurturing her household and extending a helping hand to her siblings whenever they needed a place to call home.

Faith was a vital pillar of Eloise's journey. Baptized on her wedding day, she embraced the Presbyterian faith with her whole heart. She remained deeply devoted and active in her church community in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, for the rest of her life, drawing strength, comfort, and lifelong friendships from her congregation. Her steadfast relationship with the Lord guided her actions and anchored her through life's changing seasons.

Eloise will forever be remembered for her vibrant, artistic spirit and her incredible sense of humor. Gifted with a natural musical ability inherited from her family, she could play the piano beautifully entirely by ear. Whether she was sharing moody melodies in the quiet evening hours , playing lively chords at family reunions in the Black Hills , or orchestrating elaborate practical jokes on her siblings , Eloise brought laughter and harmony to everyone around her. Her melody lives on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Eloise passed away October 8, 2025 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska at the age of 95 years.

Eloise is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Murray; parents Joseph and Marjorie Salvatori; brothers Erwin Salvatori and Derald Salvatori; sisters Betty McBride, Jean Scott, Margie Tennant, and Jan Haselhuhn.
