Eric Cummings

Eric Cummings passed away July 9, 2025 at the Buffet Cancer Center in Omaha, NE after a brief illness.

Erick Blake Cummings was born to Darrel and Noma Jean (Jeannie) Brumbaugh Cummings, April 7, 1963 in Armour, South Dakota. He was raised in communities in Charles Mix County, mainly Lake Andes prior to moving to Onida, SD. He graduated from Cheyenne-Eagle Butte High School in 1981. He attended dental school and joined the U.S. Air Force serving his Country for 13 years. He worked for RediMix in Omaha until his passing. He married Gary Gooding in 2018.

He is survived by his siblings Deb (Brad), Brauneller, Les (Terry) Cummings, Jeannette (Leonard) Raw, Robin (Joe) Johnson, and Michele (Kevin) Richter, many nieces, nephews and great nieces who loved their “Uncle E”. Other survivors family/friends Beth and Dana, Connie and Chuck, Mike, Patrick and Jerry, Derrick, Cherish, and Charlotte, Aunts, and Cousins, and his Redimix Family.

He was predeceased by his spouse Gary, parents, brother Jon and wife Nennie Cummings, his paternal and maternal grandparents, fur babies Dolly, Belle, Boscoe, Binx and Stella, and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. His kindness, love, humor, and generosity will be greatly missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to bassetandbeagle.org rescue of the heartland. A memorial gathering will be July 29, 2025 at 5:30 pm at Lawrence Youngman Park, Omaha, Nebraska.
