Fannie Mae Whitfield was born on August 24, 1937 to Leonard and Mildred Riggins in Amory, Mississippi. Alongside her twin sister, Frankie Bonner, Fannie shared the role of the oldest sibling of six. Fannie attended school in Amory, Mississippi. Fannie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 15. In the early 1950s, Dannie met George Whitfield, who she later formed a union in holy matrimony with. Together they raised 6 children.

Fannie was a hard and dedicated worker. She retired from Campbell Soup after working there for 27 years. Fannie loved going out to eat, cooking, and family time. When it came down to her grandchildren, she was very protective resulting in her being the only daycare provider that she would allow them to go to. During her time with her grandchildren, Fannie was able to teach 7 our of 9 of them how to ride a bike. The famous dishes that her family loved for her to prepare was fried pork chops, chicken noodle soup, cornbread, chili, and cornbread dressing.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Leonard and Mildred Riggins; her husband George Whitfield; son Gregory Nolan; and sister Frankie Bonner.

Fannie leaves to cherish 4 siblings; 5 children Cynthia (David) Johnson of Omaha, NE, Cecilia Nolan of Omaha, NE, Robbie Whitfield of Omaha, NE, Andrea (Bruce) Vaughn of Omaha, NE, Robert (Julie) Whitfield of Omaha, NE; 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
