Floyd L. Patrick, 91, of Fort Dodge, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at his home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 26th at 10:00 AM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home in Omaha, NE. Burial will follow at the Omaha National Veterans Cemetery at 1:30 PM with military rites conducted by the V.F.W. and U.S. Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, Omaha, NE 4712 S. 82nd St.
Floyd is survived by his daughters, Andi (Wayne) Lemm of Papillion, NE, Lori (Jerry) Herr of Fort Dodge, Beverly Patrick of Omaha, NE, Glenda (Mark) Horvath of Papillion, NE, and Holly Kent of Bentonville, AR; grandchildren, Robert (Rebecca) Patrick II, LeAnne (Ronald) Meckna, Beckie (Alex) Sluga, Patrick Johnson, Joshua (Nikki) Markle, Sarah (Thomas) Knipe, Sandra Horvath, and Mark (Erin) Horvath Jr.; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Charlie Patrick; and sisters, Clara Stewart, Rachel Fulton and Becky Burton.
Floyd was preceded in death by his son, Bob Patrick, parents, Carlous and Annie (Merryman) Patrick, brothers, Cecil, Emmet, Kenny, Wilbert and Harry, and sisters, Emma Schrock and Lois Conner
Floyd Leland Patrick was born on May 31, 1932, in DeWitt Arkansas. He was raised and educated in Arkansas. From 1953 to 1955 Floyd served in the Army and spent the following 10 years in the Army Reserves. In 1957, Floyd was united in marriage to Madalyn Hurst and the couple later divorced. In 1964, they established their home in Omaha, Floyd owned and operated a trucking business for 17 years. In 1987, Floyd moved to Washington and drove truck for Washington Trucking Corporation until retiring in 1997. In 2016, Floyd moved back to Iowa to be closer to his family.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
