Fred Douglass Jackson

November 30, 1931 — January 13, 2022

Fred Douglass Jackson was born to Susie Louise and Clark Jackson in Memphis, Tennessee on November 30, 1931 he was the only child. Both parents preceded him in death. Fred graduated from High School and join the United States Air Force, in July 15,1951.

He was united in marriage to Elma Washington on July 20, 1962 and remained married for 59 years. Fred and Elma had two children. Fred was kind, hardworking and very giving. His wife was the love of his life they were never separated from each other. Enjoyed traveling and music, he loves dancing with Elma. His love for music was jazz, blues and r&b and would DJ for everyone. After retirement form United States Air Force March 1, 1972, he attended University of Nebraska at Omaha and received a bachelor degree in Criminal Laws. He went to work for the Sheriff Department and transferred to Correction Department where he became an Assistant Warden of Douglas County Jail.

Fred Douglass Jackson departed this life on Thursday, January 13, 2022 in Omaha, Nebraska.

His memory will be cherished by his wife, Elma Jackson, and sons John (Jane) Redd of Omaha, Nebraska Ricardo (Jodi) Redd of Saint Louis, Missouri, Six grandchildren, Joseph Redd, Sharyn Wright, Felisia Redd, Teresa Redd, Anderea Winfrey, Ashley Lardner; Seven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
