Holliece "Hollie" Fox

Holliece “Hollie” Fox, born November 27th, 1954, passed away peacefully in her daughter’s home after a prolonged battle with cancer, on Friday, January 26, 2024, at the age of 69. She was surrounded by her family, friends and loved ones, then reunited in heaven with her parents Robert Powell and Connie (Powell) Wells as well as her beloved Pitbull mix, Maggie. Hollie was born in Hastings, Nebraska and she graduated from Valley Center High School, in Kansas. By 1987, she and her children moved to Omaha, Nebraska where she received her degree in computer programming from Metropolitan Community College. While at Metro, she met three of her lifelong friends, Carol Hazen, Rita Lawson, and Ramie Walsh. She worked and then retired from Walmart after a dedicated 20+ years of service, making many friends along the way.

Hollie enjoyed baking, sewing, puzzles, gardening and being around her grandchildren. She made sure to teach her granddaughters everything she could about what she loved to do. Hollie loved the holidays; however, her favorite time of year was Christmas. Being with her family and watching the children open gifts truly gave her pure happiness.

Hollie was famous for her no-bake cookies, her ham and beans and how much she loved to read a good book. Some may remember her as silly and hardheaded but all those who knew her know that she will be remembered most, for the endless love and devotion to her family. She was the grandma that would have her grandchildren over, the mom and grandma that sewed the clothes, to run errands with, saving baby bats from a swimming pool or even just a caring shoulder to cry on. When it came to her children, especially her grandchildren, Hollie was there no matter what. Hollie was relentless with everything in life- her hobbies, her work, her friends, her family.

Hollie is survived by her children, Dustin Fox (Lindsey Howard) and Korbyn Fox (Michael McSharry).Grandchildren, Kaylee Mihulka (David), Kalyssa Fox, Tanna Bazer, Nevaeh Fox, Jordyn Fox, and Aubrey McSharry. Great-Grandchild, Weston Mihulka. Sister, Tracy Forsberg (Ken), brother Matthew Powell (Karen), and Robb Powell (Carmie) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Service Information: 

Hollie’s Celebration of Life Service will be held at Good Shephard Funeral Home located at 3809 N 90 th Street, Omaha, NE, Friday February 9th at 5:00p.m. Hollie wanted memorials to be sent to her family as she cherished them more than anything else.
