James Howard Carne Jr., 71, passed away peacefully in Omaha, Nebraska, July 9, 2026 after a long illness. He was surrounded by the love of his family when he passed.

Jim was born on August 12, 1954, at Gardena Hospital to his father, Fire Captain James Howard Carne Sr., and his mother, Barbara Douillard, a beauty queen and homemaker. Raised in Signal Hill, California, Jim was a football player, baseball player, surfer & a true 1970s California boy.

One of Jim's greatest achievements was being a loving husband & father to 11 children, all of whom he remained close to throughout his life.

Jim loved hiking, gardening, the beach & anything involving nature. He had a true green thumb. He was also a connoisseur of aquariums and loved 1970s music & funny movies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Barbara Carne.
