Jeanne Ellen Head

Jeanne Ellen Head passed away July 1, 2026, in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 94 years. She was born April 3, 1932, in Selby, South Dakota.

Jeanne earned a nursing degree and worked in the delivery room in Omaha before moving to New York City in 1965 to pursue an acting career. She attended acting classes and was a member of the Screen Actors Guild while working at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Jeanne retired from St. Vincent’s in 1997, after 44 years of nursing.

Jeanne gave up acting early on and shifted her focus to the pro-life movement. She has dedicated her life to the cause of life. She co-founded the Manhattan Right to Life Committee and Birthline Hotline in 1972 and the Metropolitan Right to Life Foundation in 1987 and served in a number of positions for New York State Right to Life Committee. Additionally, she was a board member of National Right to Life Committee and was NRLC’s Vice President for International Affairs and United Nations representative for both NRLC and the International Right to Life Federation.

Jeanne was a strong and faithful advocate for life and lived a life dedicated to life. She cultivated deep friendships through her work in the Right to Life movement and was a devoted sister. Jeanne enjoyed traveling with her sister Mary Lou and they often visited other family members as part of their trips.

Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents George and Irene Head; sisters Beverly Jane Head, Betty Noll, and Mary Lucille Head; brothers, Harry E. Head and Robert G. Head; sisters-in-law, Laurel Head and Beverly Head; brother-in-law, John Harken Noll; nephew Scott Head; and 2 great-nephews.

She is survived by her brother, Tom (Elaine) Head; and 14 nieces and nephews.
