Jerry Abels

Jerry Abels, age 77, passed away in Omaha, Nebraska, on September 30, 2024. He was born April 3, 1947 to the late Willis and Margaret (Thomas) Abels in Cheyenne, WY. Jerry graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1965. He was active in community theater and The Renaissance Faire of the Midlands. Jerry was an Eagle Scout, was a member of the Order of the Arrow, and served in the United States Army.

Jerry is survived by his children, Shannon Kay Abels, Scott Lee Abels, Shaun Lee Abels, Heather (Ben) Thompson, and Erin Elizabeth Abels; granddaughter, Seraphina Faye Abels; siblings, Vicki (Earl) Hallberg, and Lyn Abels; niece, Brooke (Pete) Whiting; great niece, Breeann Whiting; and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home's L Street Chapel on Sunday, October 06, 2024.

Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 PM at Omaha National Cemetery at 14250 Schram Road, Omaha, NE 68138, on Monday, October 7, 2024.

The family will direct memorials.
