JoAnn Cole

JoAnn Cole age 82 passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, NE. JoAnn was born on July 5, 1943, in Omaha, NE to Raymond, Sr and Eva Lee Powell. JoAnn married Freddie Cole, Jr in Hastings, NE and shared 52 years of marriage together. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to cook, watch soap operas, play cards, going to the casino and writing poetry.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her husband Freddie, Jr; parents Raymond, Sr and Eva Lee; brothers: Franky, Edward, Larry and Gary; sisters: Thelma Jean and Sandra. JoAnn is survived by her sons: Tyrone (Roxanne), Terence, William and Melvin (Delores); daughter: Sophia Powell; brothers: Raymond Jr, Ricky and Stevie; sisters: Joyce Taylor (Harold) and Connie; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
