John Boss

John E Boss

Born January 11, 1947 on a farm 4 ½ miles west of Logan Iowa to parents Ernest W Boss and Mary Jane Sears Boss. John lived on the farm until the age of 14. He attended country school (Silver Hill) from kindergarten through 8th grade. The family moved to Missouri Valley in 1961 after his dad bought a Trash Route in 1960. John attended Missouri Valley High School 9th through 12th grades and graduated in 1965. He went to work for his dad, June 1, 1965 until his dad retired January 1, 1980. John ran the business (Boss Hauling) until December 17, 2004 when he sold it and retired.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mary Jane Boss, and brother in law, Don Lingerfelt.

John enjoyed bowling, pool, fishing. flowers and gardening and canning and cooking.

His plan in his life was to make a person smile and laugh, even if only for a moment.

John is survived by his brother, Bill (Lisa) Boss and sister, Mary Lingerfelt; nephews, Justin (April) Lingerfelt and Michael Boss, niece, Michelle Boss.
