John Darnell Smith

John Darnell Smith was born July 22, 1961 to Margaret Smith. He went to Northwest High School and UNO earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education. John enjoyed music, movies, and hanging out with his family. Family was everything to him. He worked for the Early Childhood Learning Services and owned a temporary employment service.

John is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Smith; father Houston Abraham; and brothers Jeff and Bryant Smith.

Left to cherish John's memory are his soulmate, Hattie Lee, for over 22 years; his daughter Sheena Loftin; his grandchildren Marcellaya Downie, age 20, Martez Downie, age 18, Melissa Loftin, age 17, Marquel Loftin, age 15, Layla Johnson, age 5, Jayshawn Johnson, age 2, and Darius Gordon, age 1; his brothers, cousins, and other family members.
