John Joseph Stolz

August 19, 1935 — February 4, 2026

John Joseph Stolz passed away February 4, 2026 in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 90 years. He was born August 19, 1935 in Mondamin, Iowa.

He was raised in the countryside outside of Mondamin on the banks of the Missouri River. As a child he enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.

After High School he joined the US Army and served in Fort Carson, Colorado and in Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

He married the love of his life, Nancy Ann Miller, on December 27, 1958. After an honorable discharge from the Army he began work at Vickers Hydraulics in Omaha. He worked at Vickers for 38 years as an Inspector before retiring.

Jack and Nancy had two children, Steven and Kathleen. The family enjoyed annual vacations around the American West but their favorite was the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, in and around Estes Park. Jack and Nancy remained avid motorcycle enthusiasts from their teen dating years on Indians and Harleys to their later years on their Hondas. They continued their two wheeled adventures well into Jack's mid 70's. Jack loved to play the guitar and continued well into his 80's. He continued to serenade Nancy with love songs in his final days.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Frances Stolz; brothers Frank Stolz and Bob Stolz; and sisters Barbara Burbridge and Josephine Rodenburgh.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Nancy Stolz; children Steven (Robin) Stolz and Kathleen Engel; grandchildren Kerry Stolz, Michael (Ashley) Stolz, Brandon (Jessica) Engel, Brie Kafka; great-grandchildren
