Johnnie V. Johnson was born on June 6, 1942, to the late Wade and Ida Johnson, of Selma, Arkansas, and was born on her mother's 44th birthday. This afforded her the opportunity to be raised and reared by her older sisters and raised alongside her nieces and nephews like siblings.
After graduating high school, she moved to Omaha, Nebraska to be closer to her sister Annie Clark and it was there she met and married Otis McGhee on August 23, 1966. Three children came from this union, Otis Jr., Terry Ann, and Kyrra.
Johnnie worked in various industries over the years, but her most prized position was being a devoted mother. This was a position that she carried with pride from their cradle to her grave. She also loved the Lord and proudly demonstrated this every opportunity and interaction she had. She could rattle off all 66 books of the bible with ease and was proud of this. Whether she was at Second Baptist, Freedom Christian Fellowship, or Road to Damascus, she was always at home when she was in the house of the Lord. One of her favorite past times, especially when her children were younger, was reading and whenever you saw her, she was certain to have a book in her hand.
She was greatly adored by her three children, seven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
Receiving Johnnie in glory are her parents Wade and Ida, Sisters Idell, Marnette, Frances, Annie, and Alean. Brothers Wade Jr, Roman, and Theodis, her bonus grandson Kameron Trotter as well as her former husband, Otis McGhee Sr.
Johnnie leaves to cherish her memories her three children: Otis McGhee Jr (life partner Donna Boczek), Terry Ann Sanders (Louis Jr.), Kyrra Edwards (Sam). Seven grandchildren: George Jr (Dallas, Texas), Jordan, Joshua, Kiara, Sam Jr, Mas (bonus grandson), Julia, and Juanita. Eleven great-grandkids: Marasia, Harlem, Brooklyn, Mariah, KJ, Jamir, Noelle, Nasir, Legacy, Legend, and Joshua Jr., Three brothers: Preston, Oscar, and Joe Lee. Special longtime friend of 60 years, Minnie Warren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
