Joy Neneman
November 6, 1939 - July 14, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joy Neneman, who left this world on July 14, 2025, at the age of 85. Joy was born on November 6, 1939, in Falls City, Nebraska, the beloved daughter of Rose and Bud Neneman. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Jack Neneman, George (Jean) Neneman, and Jim (Roxann) Neneman.
Joy is survived by her sister Maryann (Bob) Boelter, her best friend and chosen sister Joellen Penning, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A woman of deep faith and compassion, Joy dedicated her life to service. She was a devoted teacher, principal, aunt, Godmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her Catholic faith was the foundation of her life, and for 16 years, she was a Sister of Mercy, living out her calling with grace and dedication. Joy earned her master's degree from Creighton University and spent over 30 years educating and inspiring young minds. She was a tireless advocate for the well-being and success of her students, always giving everything she had to help others.
Joy was known for her boundless energy, creativity, and infectious joy. Whether it was organizing a fun activity for her nieces and nephews or lending a hand wherever it was needed, Joy always went the extra mile. Her spirit was one of service, and she brought light and love into the lives of everyone she met.
Though born Julianne, Joy's father immediately knew she was a joyful addition to their family, and so she was affectionately called "Joy" - a name that perfectly captured the essence of her being. It was a name that reflected her heart's mission to bring happiness, love, and hope to all who knew her.
Joy's impact will be felt for generations to come. She was a woman whose faith, kindness, and love shaped the lives of everyone around her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
