Remembering Her Life

Juanita Marie Parker was born on January 17, 1956, to Oscar and Geneva Parker in San Diego, California. From California, they had a short-lived stay in Boston, where Oscar retired from the Navy. He moved his family to Omaha, Nebraska.

When Geneva passed on, Aunt “Auntie” Bessie stepped in and filled the void as mother. They talked about everything! Juanita began her education at Conestoga Elementary School and moved on to Horace Mann Jr. High. She advanced to Central High School, where she graduated.

Juanita gave birth to two children: Ganny Terrell Parker and Quincy Lynn Moore. She was a strong, devoted mother to her sons, raising them to become strong men, all while working in her career and taking care of others. Juanita was truly blessed with the gift to be a natural caregiver. She spent that talent on anyone she came in contact with, not just family and friends. To have known Juanita was to love her. Juanita, affectionately called “Parker” by everyone, had the most contagious smile and attitude. Her laugh was loud, but it had the ability to pierce your heart with love. At family gatherings, you would hear that laugh, and you’d know Parker had arrived.

She loved her music and dancing. Parker was just filled with energy, and she’d dance and sing all night.

Parker was well-known for her delicious chicken, spaghetti, potato salad, sweet potato pie, and deviled eggs. These dishes were staples at every family gathering. She loved everyone, but she had an abundance of love for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her dog, Coco. A highlight of her life was her very special relationship with Mark “Buddy” Booth, who bought her Coco and together they affectionately declared her as ‘their daughter’.

They shared many memorable experiences, but their walks with Coco were particularly special to them – they even dressed alike for the occasion! Parker made it clear that anyone who crossed them would face her wrath, which was probably the only time one might see anger from her otherwise kind heart.

Parker was not just a mother and grandmother; she was also a sister and friend to many. She was a vibrant soul who lived life to the fullest and left behind a legacy of unconditional love and cherished memories.

Juanita Marie Parker departed this life on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the age of 70. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Geneva Parker, and brothers, Joseph Johnson and Steven Parker.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her sons, Ganny (Charla) Parker and Quincy (Lisa) Moore, both of Omaha, NE; granddaughter, Darjinae (Terrell) Holliman of Las Vegas, NV; grandson, Ganny Parker Jr. of Omaha, NE; great-grandchildren, Elijah and Xy’Heir Holliman of Las, Vegas, NV; brothers, Louis Parker of Washington, D.C.; brother, Orlando (Vickie) Parker of Omaha, NE; sisters, Doris Parker and Teresa Parker, both of Omaha, NE; significant other, Mark “Buddy” Booth of Omaha, NE; and fur baby, Coco; She also had a host of sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews to great-nieces and great-nephews from the Cottons to the Walkers to the Moores, and to the McGhees; special friends, Ms. Marcela and Ms. Alecia; and other family and friends too numerous to mention.
