Kathleen Marie Welbes

Kathleen M. (Klein) Welbes was born in Dubuque, Iowa to Gilbert Klein and Katherine (Schmidtt) Klein. She was the second in a family of 5 children. She graduated from the Antonian School of Practical Nursing in Carrol, Iowa in 1961. She completed a bachelor's degree at the University of Nebraska in Omaha in 1989. She was awarded a membership in the Golden Key National Honor Society for outstanding scholastic achievements.

In July 1962 Kathy met John who became her lifetime companion. They were married on June 15, 1963. They were blessed with two daughters, Miriam and Stephanie. John was in the Air Force. They lived in many different places before settling in Bellevue.

She is survived by her husband John and daughter Miriam Datya. She was preceded in death by a second daughter Stephanie Welbes. She is also survived by three sisters Diane (Tom) Kramer, LeeAnn (Bart) Anderson and Virginia (Kelly) Cullen.

She was also preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Katherine (Schmidtt) Klein and brother Ronnie Klein.
