Emblem

Larry was born in Kansas City, Mo. And then grew up on a farm in southwest Iowa.

He attended a one room country school for grades 1 thru 8. From there he went to Prescott High School where he graduated Valedictorian of his senior class.

In 1961, the family moved to Omaha and Larry attended CE School of Commerce and took classes with an emphasis on accounting. Graduated in 63 and went to work for Rosen-Novak Chevrolet.

Was drafted into the US Army in 1965 and did a tour in Qui Nhon, South Vietnam. Came home in 1967 and began working for Northern Natural Gas.

In 1971, he married his soul mate, Nancy Rose. So excited!! In 1975, Brian became an addition to the family. In 1987, his job was transferred to Houston and Larry moved the family south. They finally started to settle in when Brian started playing high school sports (football and baseball) attending many games.

The Enron collapse was devastating for him as he was invested greatly in the company, but he chose to look at himself as lucky because he worked in the pipeline division, which was still profitable, and he still had a job.

His two proudest moments were when Brian graduated from Stephen F. Austin and when Brian married Sandra and asked him to be the Best Man.

Saddest times were when Nancy became ill and he really couldn't help her get cured of her disease.

He was devasted again when Nancy passed away while he was in the hospital with covid. He regretted not being there to hold her in the end.

Still he fought his cancer for five plus years and didn't waste time on complaining. He was a great example on how we all should handle adversity and move forward in a positive way.

He will be missed greatly. R.I.P.

Larry is preceded is death by his wife Nancy; parents, Howard and Freddie Palma and his baby brother, Howard, Jr. He is survived by his son, Brian (Sandra); brother, Denny (Mary Ann) and a host of other loving family and friends.
