Leroy Martin

Oct 22, 1941 — Jul 3, 2026

With deep love and heartfelt gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the life and legacy of Deacon Leroy Martin, who was born on October 22, 1941, in Oklahoma, to the late Nathaniel Martin and Olivia Martin.

Leroy received his education in Oklahoma and was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School then attended two years in college where became a professional seamster. As a young man, he relocated to Omaha, Nebraska, alongside his father in search of greater opportunities. It was there that he built a remarkable life defined by hard work, unwavering faith, and selfless service to others.

Professionally, Leroy dedicated more than 40 years of faithful service to Camelot Cleaners before later joining Good Shepherd Funeral Home, where he compassionately served families during some of life's most difficult moments. A gifted seamster, Leroy was widely recognized throughout Nebraska for his exceptional craftsmanship and impeccable attention to detail. His talent, creativity, and refined sense of fashion made him highly respected in the community.

Known for his impeccable style and distinguished presence, Leroy earned the affectionate nickname "Hollywood." His love for fashion extended beyond tailoring, leading to several modeling opportunities, including appearances in Ebony Magazine. Whether through his craftsmanship or his signature elegance, Leroy always carried himself with dignity, confidence, and class.

Above all, Leroy was a man of unwavering faith in God. He faithfully served as an ordained deacon, ministering at Paradise and Mount Nebo churches. His life reflected Christ through humility, servant leadership, and an enduring love for God's people. He found joy in worship, fellowship, and serving wherever he was needed.

Outside of his work and ministry, Leroy enjoyed restoring and admiring classic automobiles, playing the guitar, and collecting vintage firearms. His warm smile, generous heart, gentle spirit, and unmistakable style left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know him.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we rejoice in knowing that Leroy's life was a testimony of faith, perseverance, love, and service. His legacy will continue to inspire his family, friends, church family, and all whose lives he touched.

Leroy was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Nathaniel and Olivia Martin; his siblings, Willie "Billy" and Wilma (Leo) ; his cherished granddaughter, Baby Hannah; his beloved goddaughter, Maia; his brother-in-law, Pastor Isaiah; and his mother-in-law, Stella Bennett.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his devoted and beautiful wife, Tina "Queen" Martin, with whom he shared 33 blessed years of marriage. Together they built a home rooted in faith, love, and family.

He also leaves behind his beloved children, Lonnie, Sherry, Victor, Tiffany, and Crystal; his cherished godson, Joseph ("Joey"); a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brothers-in-law, Willie and Barry; his sisters-in-law, Cheryl, Debra, Inez, Tanisha, and Shainnia; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, Marcellus Green, Bill and Kathy Gast, and all whose lives were enriched by his love, kindness, and enduring example.

While we mourn his earthly departure, we celebrate a life beautifully lived-a life marked by faith, excellence, integrity, compassion, and love. Leroy's influence will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched and the memories that will forever remain in our hearts.

"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord."

Matthew 25:23

Although the lights have dimmed on this side of eternity for the man many lovingly knew as "Hollywood," his finest appearance is now before the King of kings. Clothed in immortality and welcomed into eternal glory, his faith, love, and legacy will forever shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
