Lon Dell Mccoy

On Friday, August 12, 2022, Lon Dell McCoy, loving father, brother, family, and friend passed away at the age of 64. Lon Dell McCoy was born in Omaha, Nebraska on April 26, 1958, to parents Lillie Marie and M.L. McCoy. Londell attended Lorthrop Elementary School in Omaha, NE. Lon was well known as the fastest runner in his neighborhood. Lon attended Fremont Middle School in Stockton, CA. He played football during his first year at Franklin High School in Stockton, CA. He decided at an early age to work at his first job at HJ Hines Company. He also worked at John Mansville as a factory worker. Later, he moved to San Diego, CA where he landed a maintenance position at San Diego University. As a caring a devoted father, Lon Dell decided to move back to Omaha to be with his daughter Karis. His sacrifice paid off as he was blessed with a position at Creighton as a lead maintenance worker until he retired in April 2022.
Lon Dell loved cooking, eating, gospel music, being at home watching CSI, and watching movies since he owned hundreds of them. Most importantly, Lon Dell enjoyed sitting 3 or 4 was on the phone talking for hours with his siblings. He always has a smile.
Preceded in death by parents Lillie and M.L.; sisters Lyndora and Pamela; youngest brother Jody; and nephews.
Survived by his precious daughter Karis; sisters Betty McCoy and Nikita Noel-Smith; brothers Melvin, Ricky, and Terri McCoy; over seventy five nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
