Luke
Mauro
April 30, 1979 – April 13, 2026
Luke A. Mauro was born on April 30, 1979, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Dave and Vicki Mauro. He grew up with his older sister, Jessica, forming bonds that shaped the generous, loyal man he would become.
For 24 years, Luke dedicated his life to his craft as a proud Local 21 Union Iron Worker. He was especially honored to work with Atlas Steel Erections, where he found a brotherhood that meant the world to him. Luke passed away doing the work he loved, surrounded by the pride and purpose he carried every day.
Luke met the love of his life in 1998. Life brought them back together in 2003, and in 2006 they married, beginning a journey filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering partnership. Together they raised four beautiful children—Hannah, Ryan, Caleb, and Felicia—and opened their hearts to many more who came to know their home as a place of love and acceptance.
Luke lived with a rare kind of openness. He loved people deeply and without hesitation. He was always ready with a helping hand, a bit of advice, or simply a listening ear. His sense of humor—sometimes quirky, always genuine—brought laughter to countless moments.
He found joy in the outdoors: frisbee golf, camping, hiking, mushroom hunting, or simply being surrounded by nature with the people he loved. Luke made memories everywhere he went, and he made sure others felt included, valued, and cared for.
He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Luke is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; his daughter Hannah; his sons Caleb and Ryan; and his chosen daughter Felicia. He is also survived by his parents, Dave and Vicki Mauro; his sister, Jessica Hargis; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Luke’s legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched—with his kindness, his humor, his work ethic, and his unwavering love for family and friends. His memory will continue to guide, inspire, and comfort those who carry him in their hearts.
