Lynn Estes was born on January 8, 1949 in Omaha, Nebraska to Richard Marion Davis Sr. and Irene White. She grew up in South Omaha with her sister Lois and adopted parents, Floyd and Inez McGee, following a serious illness of her mother, Irene.

Lynn attended Highland elementary and graduated from South High 67'. She enjoyed extracurricular activities such as drill teams, plays, chorus, beauty pageants and parades. After graduation, Lynn attended UNO and worked various jobs including Brandeis as well as packing houses.

Lynn married Ronald J. Estes (1970-79) and from this union two beautiful daughters, Dena and Michelle (Micki) were born. In 1982 Lynn was blessed with her third beautiful daughter, Leaha from her union with Langston Bradley.
