Lynn Ewing

Lynn Ann Ewing passed away January 7, 2026 in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 62 years. She was born to William Mattocks and JoAnn Sprinkle on July 16, 1963 in Burlington, Iowa. She was the second oldest of 4 children. She grew up primarily in Illinois, and in Golden Colorado, before moving to Omaha, Nebraska. Lynn was introduced by her brother-in-law George Eckendorf to Richard Ewing as a blind date. Lynn married Richard D. Ewing Dec 30, 1988. She and her husband made their home in Papillion, Nebraska and welcomed their first daughter in 1990. Richard and Lynn welcomed one more daughter in 2002.

Lynn was preceded in death by her parents Bill and JoAnn Mattocks; and sister Jennifer Mattocks.

She is survived by her husband Richard; daughters Elizabeth and Rhiannon; sister Teresa McFarling and husband David of Boone, Iowa; brother William Mattocks and wife Ann-Marie, of Waterford, Michigan; step-mother Kathleen Mattocks; step-brother John; and step-sister Lisa; and many nieces and nephews.

Lynn was an avid genealogist, and liked puzzles in general. She loved history and unsolved mysteries, SciFi, singing, and Marvel movies.
