Marcus Anthony Marker was born on September 26, 1988, in Omaha, Nebraska, where he was also raised. He passed away on January 17, 2025, far too soon.
Marcus was born to Athena (Marker) Moore and was preceded in death by his father, Gregory Lewis. Above all else, Marcus was a devoted and deeply loving father. He was the proud dad of Princess Marker, Malani Marker, and Marcus Anthony Marker II. From day one, Marcus showed up for his children in every way; never missing a beat, always present, always loving. His children were his world, and his intelligence, spirit, and individuality live on through each of them.
Marcus was the beloved eldest brother to his sisters TiAnna Marker, Drea Marker, and Terra Moore, Janaya Moss, Ashaliyah Lewis, and to his brother, Cannon Moore.
Marcus was a straightforward man with his own unique sense of humor; real, honest, and unapologetically himself. He was one of the smartest people you could know, extremely tech-savvy, and the go-to person for all things video games. He had a lifelong passion for gaming, from collecting consoles and parts to building computers and modding games. But Marcus didn’t just play games; he built worlds, relationships, and lasting connections through them. He introduced his siblings and his children to gaming, sharing not only his skills but his joy, patience, and sense of fun. Up until the day he passed, Marcus spent countless hours laughing, connecting, and creating community with friends through his game systems. Many of these friendships were long-standing and consistent, formed and maintained through years of shared gameplay, conversations, and mutual support. His love for gaming became a bridge; bringing people together and leaving a lasting imprint on everyone who had the privilege of playing alongside him. If something needed fixing, upgrading, or figuring out, Marcus was the one everyone called.
Beyond his technical skills, Marcus was also creative and artistic, with a sharp mind, a deep sense of originality, and an amazing sense of fashion that reflected his individuality.
He cared deeply for his family and friends and shared close bonds with lifelong friends, countless cousins, relatives, and loved ones who meant the world to him; and whom he loved just as fiercely in return.
Marcus will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His passing is a reminder to live fully in the present, to love deeply, and to never take tomorrow for granted.
