Marie Drew

On June 22, 2022 Marie Drew got her wings and went to be with the Lord. She died peacefully in her sleep at Maplecrest Health Center in Omaha, NE.

Marie was born in Alabama the daughter of Solomon Hearren and Vinnie "Luella" Richardson

Marie had many interests and hobbies that brought her joy such as quilting, sewing, cooking and being with her friends at Immanuel Pathways Senior Center which she affectionately referred to as "The Club." She also enjoyed going to the Casino with family and friends, but most of all Marie loved her family. Marie was a kind and loving soul with a beautiful smile to match.

Marie married Edward Drew on September 23, 1942 in Alabama. They had 11 children together. In 1955 they moved from Alabama to East Moline, Illinois for better opportunities. Marie was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for more than 60 years where she enjoyed attending services regularly prior to relocation to her new home in Omaha.

Those left to cherish Marie's memories are her children Leona Adams and Mary Cornell (GA), Luella Johnson (MO), Rose Meadows (NE), Jessie Drew, Cellie Drew, Robert Drew (IL), and Willie Mae Rhodes (IL); her sister Mary Watson (IL); son-in-law Willie Ballard (IL); and several grandchildren, great grand and great, great grandchildren.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband Edward Drew, 2 sons Eddie Drew and Orsbend Drew; her daughter Mary Alice Ballard. Marie was also preceded by several of her siblings.
