Mark Patrick Mahoney, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at home on August 3, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on January 19, 1955, in Omaha, Nebraska, Mark spent his entire life in the city he called home.
Mark was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Connie, and a loving father to his daughters, Dana, Lindsay, and Courtney. He was a proud Papa to London, Kaleb, Klayton, Mara, Murphie, and Dean, who brought endless pride and joy to his life. Mark had one brother, Larry, who most of their lives lived in another state. Although, they were miles apart, they remained close. His greatest joy in life was his family, friend's, and nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with those he loved.
Mark dedicated his career to Omaha Public Power District (OPPD), where he began working at a young age and remained until his retirement. He was known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and the friendships he built throughout his years of service.
Outside of work, Mark loved golfing, cooking Italian meals for family and friends, traveling to new places, and creating lasting memories with the people he loved most. Above all, he had an incredible sense of humor. Whether it was one of his classic one-liners or a perfectly timed joke, Mark had a remarkable ability to make people laugh and brighten any room he entered.
Mark will be remembered for his love for his family, quick wit, and the countless smiles he brought to others. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the love he shared.
Though he will be deeply missed, his laughter, love, and spirit will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
