Mary Magdalene Teamer was born August 15, 1927, in Haydock, Iowa, to Isaiah and Alberta Davis. Mary sadly departed this life on September 13, 2021, at the age of 94.
Sister Teamer loved the Lord. She was a member of Pleasant Green Baptist Church, and one of her many pleasures in life was to be part of the music ministry. She previously served as pianist for several years at Paradise Baptist Church. She learned to play the piano at an early age and
continued to write and compose music well into her eighties.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star -- and founding member of Deborah Chapter #17 -- for 55 years.
Her first loves were her family and friends. She was an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast and could proudly complete the New York Times puzzles at the blessed age of 94. She loved to cook and tend to her yard and take care of her flowers. And throughout the day, she loved to watch
religious programming and the Food Network channel. She had a huge personality and an open heart. Everyone who met her became her friend, and
she would give anyone the shirt off her back. She was an inspiration to all.
Sister Teamer is preceded in death by her parents Isiah Davis and Alberta Robinson; and all of her siblings, Izetta Kitchen, Isaiah (Dave) Davis Jr., Herbert Davis Sr. and Dorothy Miller; and her children Halimah I. Ali, Leonard Davis, Osie Teamer. Jr., Darrell Teamer, and Mark Teamer. She is survived by her daughters Deborah Teamer Bunting and Mary E. Teamer as well as a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many friends and loved ones.
