Mary Pate

Mary Pate, age 65, passed away on November 2, 2024.

Mary was born in Omaha, NE to Patrick Pate and Louise Pate. She graduated from Burke High School in 1978. Mary spent over 25 years working as an admin specialist in the Insurance/finance business. Mary married David Koertje of Omaha, Nebraska on September 6, 2002 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Mary resided in Las Cruces, New Mexico and Colorado Springs, Colorado, before returning to Omaha.

She was preceded in death by Patrick Pate (Father), Louise Pate (Mother). Mary is survived by her husband David, sister Louise (Dan Smith), brother Mike (Shari), Bill Koertje (Julie King), Bob Koertje (Debra), Sharon Doerr (Arnold), Sara Baumann (Greg), Nancy Jensen (Paul) and many nephews and nieces.

Mary enjoyed horse racing, cooking, traveling and her daily walks. She also enjoyed her many fur babies, through the years. They brought her great joy. While in New Mexico, she took care of many strays that would show up in their yard. They were fed and watered daily, and sometimes even got to come inside. At her homes here in Omaha, she always kept the birds, squirrels, rabbits and other little critters fed and watered.

A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held on 11 November 2024, from 3-5 PM at the Good Shepherd Funeral Services at 4712 South 82nd Street, Omaha NE.
