Nancy Ann Regier

Sep 12, 1943 — Jul 28, 2026

Nancy was born to Leo and Gertude Hendrich in Sylvan Grove, Kansas on September 12, 1943. While still a preschooler, her Aunt Barbara taught her piano. Nancy had perfect pitch and excelled in her playing. By 6th grade she was playing piano in their church service. She excelled in music and, in addition to piano, played marimba, bassoon, and also percussion in the marching band.

Nancy's spiritual journey began at Good News Club taught by her mother. She came to know her need for Jesus Christ and asked him for forgiveness even as a young child in preschool. As a 9th grader she came to understand the work of Christ more deeply through the work of three college girls that discipled Nancy at Maranatha Bible Camp. One of those relationships continued through her high school years and during her time at Wichita State.

After receiving her BME from Wichita State she was married to Norman Regier on August 7, 1965. In 1967 they felt led to serve God in the Philippines with two others to start a music department at Febias College of Bible. Nancy participated in that work by teaching piano and caring for her family. That time was exciting for all of them as they saw the Music Department grow and Filipinos grow in Christ and in music.

In 1982 they transferred the leadership of the department to one of the students they had trained, enabling Nancy and her family to return to the United States so Norman could pursue his doctorate. Nancy was the bedrock of the family during that time as they all adjusted to the culture and new schools in the U.S. The dedication she showed to her family was crucial during that season. Over the years, wherever she lived, she loved her family, loved teaching piano, and later in life took up quilting.

After being diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy she and Norman moved to Omaha. Her ability to do the things she enjoyed slowly declined until the Lord took her home on July 28th 2026. She will be dearly missed until the day we join her again.

She is survived by her husband, Norman Regier, and four daughters and their husbands, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Rachel and Steve Mansour, Kathryn and Ryan Streeter, Mark and Brenda Mavromatis, and Heidi and Scott Flaming. Grandchildren: Janae and Pierre Zook, Moriah and Zach Morgan, Karina Mansour, Sophie Mansour; Alexandra and Sam Barge, Max Streeter; Jacob and Grace Mavromatis, Hailey Mavromatis, Haven Flaming, Francesca Flaming, Alana Flaming, Aslan Flaming. Great Grandchildren Everett, Andrew, and Elorah Zook, Eli Barge, Anneli Morgan and one on the way.
