Nicanor Garfia Delgado, a strong passionate leader of the South Omaha Community, Nicanor always fought to unite the community in any form he could, providing many local job opportunities, using his powerful voice to speak for those who wouldn’t and to express his love of music through karaoke nights.
Nicanor Delgado will forever be a loved Son, Brother, Father, Uncle, Cousin , Grandpa, and Husband. He will always be a friend to all those that he crossed paths with.
Nicanor fought valiantly throughout his 5 year battle with cancer until the very end, giving us all the time he could.
Nicanor was able to find peace and rest on December 30th, 2025.
Nicanor was born in Huaniqueo, Michoacán, to J. Asencion Delgado and Ma. Carmen Garfia. Nicanor happily married Lourdes Delgado of Santa Clara Del Cobre, Michoacán.
The couple came to Omaha, Nebraska in 1991 and created a loving family of 4 children, Nick Delgado Jr., Lisbeth Delgado, Stephanie Delgado and Juan Manuel Delgado.
He started his career as a Labor Union Worker and went on to work for 25 years.
Nicanor Delgado will forever be remembered and cherished for the impact he made and the place he holds in our heart
