Emblem

Owen D. Taylor, age 87, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 25, 2026 @1:15pm.

Born on October 31, 1938, to George W. Taylor and Nettie Taylor, Owen was the baby of 17 siblings. Owen lived a life of faith, service, and unwavering love for others. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosetta Taylor, who passed away on June 10, 2010.

He is lovingly remembered by his son, Chris and his wife, Izzetta Taylor; his daughters, Darla Taylor, Cynthia Taylor, and Regilanda Taylor; and his special niece, Linda Jackson, along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family members, and countless friends and family whose lives he touched.

Owen was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, George W and Nettie Taylor; his beloved wife, Rosetta Taylor; his sisters, Reolor Coppage, Daisy Husband, Ethel Wyett, Magnolia Strong, and Leola Salton; and his brothers, Willie(Cle) Taylor, Nolan Taylor, Andrew(Slim) Taylor, George Taylor, Manchie Taylor, Doris Taylor, Melvin Taylor, and Morgan Taylor.

Owen was a proud graduate of Bethel College of Liberal Arts in Mishawaka, Indiana, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree. A man of many talents and a servant's heart, Owen faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Throughout his life he has worked as a Correctional Officer, Milkman, Painter, Realtor, Insurance Salesman, ESL Teacher, Foster Parent, and Manager of the Good Neighbors Homes, later known as Tommy Rose Garden Apartments. No matter where he served, he treated people with dignity, compassion, and respect.

Owen's greatest calling was as a faithful pastor. His life's mission was simple: to tell people about Jesus. Whether preaching from the pulpit or talking with someone while standing in line at the grocery store, he never missed an opportunity to share God's love. He lived for the Lord and faithfully encouraged everyone he met to know Christ.

He was a protector, a man of genuine and unconditional love, and one of the greatest examples of God's love to all who knew him. His kindness reached far beyond his family, touching neighbors, friends, and even strangers. He and his wife invited many people into their home and life. If you knew Owen, you were blessed by his presence, sense of humor, and experienced the warmth of his caring heart.

In his spare time, Owen enjoyed going to the gym and staying active, reflecting the discipline and determination that characterized his life.

Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of faith, love, service, and compassion will continue to inspire all who were privileged to know him. We rejoice in knowing that he has heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant," and is now at peace in the presence of his Savior.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever with the Lord.
