Raymond A. Mack, 63, of Omaha, Nebraska was born October 28, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois and passed away on July 29, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Raymond was a proud father, devoted son, and loyal friend. Above all else, he cherished his family and the many friendships he formed throughout his life. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Bulls and enjoyed collecting recipes, experimenting with new dishes, and smoking food on the grill for family and friends.
Raymond graduated from Boys Town in 1981, where he participated in athletics and other activities. He later returned to work at Boys Town, an organization that remained meaningful to him throughout his life. He also proudly served in the United States Army and went on to build a career with Omaha Public Power District (OPPD).
Raymond never met a stranger. Much like the beloved television character from Everybody Loves Raymond, he had a remarkable gift for connecting with people and making everyone feel welcome, valued, and engaged in conversation. His warm personality, sense of humor, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Raymond is survived by his mother, Linda Haynes; his father, Ralph Earsery; his brother, Al Haynes; his twin sons, Marcus and Maurice Mack and his daughter, Reyna Mack. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Zymarriah, Maurice Jr., Mia, Imani, London, and Lataija. He is also survived by his uncle Phil “Tuffy” Mack. He is also survived by his dear friends, John and Antone, whose bond with Raymond was as strong as that of brother. In addition, he leaves behind many "bonus" children, other relatives, countless friends whom he loved and considered family.
Even during the most difficult moments of his illness, Raymond maintained a positive outlook and faced every challenge with strength, resilience, and grace. His optimism and love for life inspired those around him and will continue to be remembered by all who knew him.
A service celebrating Raymond's life will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 4712 South 82nd Street, Omaha, Nebraska. A reception will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Boys Town in Raymond's honor. https://www.boystown.org/ways-to-give
